Well, April was a bust. What an awful fucking month. And I think I played really really well too! That's the sad part. For instance...!

Shameless brag/bad beat, That is not an easy turn to push. But I felt like my hand was good, and it was. Course I lose anyways. But my read was spot on.

Shameless brag 2, another really tough spot, against a good player.

What's my point? Well I don't think I'm playing bad for the most part. For the whole month I probably donked off less than $500. The rest of the beats were cruelty at its finest.

In fact, this has been the single worst month at the NL cash tables in my 3 years of playing. Topping even some unreal streaks at Stars 2 years ago. I hope I got those beats out of the way so I can destroy May. I'm planning on playing a sick amount of poker this month. As I'm moving out of Columbus this summer. So I'll need some extra money for necessities like a large hdtv, pool table and so on.

Anyways, it's time to put this month to rest. Fuck you April.

Poker is going no better. The beats are becoming more and more comical. Look at this hand for instance. How the fuck do you lose there? I guess I should focus on the positive. Was only a $100 pot. wtf ever.

I've been staying afloat with the occasional moron donking off a few bills to me with garbage. So it could be worse. Losing streaks sap my energy though. I barely feel like playing of late. I'll probably only end up getting in 30,000 hands this month.

Not many posts of late. I sprained my ankle pretty awful last week. Took me a full 7 days just to take a baby step on my foot. Bruised up on both sides, and up my calf. So haven't been putting in too much time at the tables. And when I have, I've run pretty awful. Really makes me want to avoid playing and posting about anything to do with poker.

This foot injury is really poor timing. I finally found a place I wanna move to, after searching for the past 6-8 months. I'm so picky, but I discovered a pretty nice place just outside of Columbus. Can't wait to pack up and get outta here. But now I gotta wait to heal up, and from the looks of things, that will be a while; 6 weeks is likely.

I'm a few thousand ARP's short of 200,000 and the $3000 bonus. I really hate AP right now, and I'd love nothing more than to take that $3k and head off to greener pastures. Looks like that will be difficult though. Some other sites really need to step up their game. I've been looking into Cake Poker, 33% dealt. But apparently they suffer from awful software/technical problems, which I refuse to put up with. I hope they get on the ball, cause 33% dealt rakeback would be really nice right now.

In any case, I think what I'm going to do is split time between 2 sites. I've never really done that before, but I'm sure I can. I'll play as many available WPEX tables, and then a few AP tables...just to get the # of hands in a month that I want.

I've pretty much exhausted my online options for now. I refuse to play at Stars. The only way I'd play over there is if I went back to being an MTT player. But I think I hate tournies too much to do that. UB was a bust. Their tables are ubertight, and the "bet pot" button ruins the game. FullTilt is another setmining colony, suffering from the same problems as Stars and UB. This is probably why AP is getting so big. Their NL tables are relatively soft.

In any case, Cake poker is one of the last places US players can play that isn't stocked with HUDbots. Sites really need to fix this shit. HUD's should not be allowed. WPEX is smart in disallowing them from their site. In my opinion, they are an unfair edge, and they are disintegrating the action all over the net. Just my 2 cents.

It's official. I'm running bad! I feel like Negreanu in Season 2 of HSP. "How can I flop the nuts every hand and lose." Well, there's a way. And I'm living that right now. Oh where to begin.

Hand 1 [Flop nuts]
Hand 2 [Flop nuts]
Hand 3 [Sick split]
Hand 4 [I was on the phone with Wolff when this happened. Therefore, I blame Wolff.]
Hand 5 [ummmm]
Hand 6 [5 minutes later on same table]
Hand 7
Hand 8 [Lovely cold deck.]
Hand 9 [Even lovelier cold deck.]

Kill me now.

I haven't put up a post in 5 days, so I feel like I better get one up.

Whew, glad that is over.

Vegas Pics Vol. 6

These pictures are all from the Bellagio; the fountains and the botanical garden.

Those are butterflies in there. They were huge (and frightening.)

This is my favorite picture from the entire roll. The Bellagio fountains always shoot up a few very large spouts at the end of a song, and I caught this last one at the end of Viva Las Vegas, reaching for the sun.

Vegas Pics Vol. 5

I visited Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum while in Vegas. Some of the figures were so lifelike I was sure I'd catch em blink or move slightly. But alas, they were all wax. I really liked the place, but this weird guy was following me around the whole time. Wax museums are kinda scary, I could picture being murdered in one of them.

Probably the most lifelike wax figure in the place.

All the wax figures were scaled down. Not much mind you, maybe 10-15%. But it made for an odd effect, as I was taller than nearly everyone.

I've never seen the show, but isn't this Buffy?

Scary.

I really hate Ben Affleck.

Yup, it's true. The last post was a joke. Tee hee. I couldn't help myself.

Anyhoo, I'm back in the saddle again. Putting in 2000 hands a day. The break did me plenty good, as I currently feel on top of my game. Not much to talk about; same ol' beats by the same idiots. Ahh, good times.

I'm hoping to clear $10k again this month. Shouldn't be too hard. I'm pretty close to getting the $3000 for 200,000 ARP's. With bonuses and rakeback, I'll be more than halfway there.

Then after this month, I think I'm gonna head back over to WPEX. They fixed their NL slider bar, so it's not such a pain in the ass to bet. And their payouts to me were very fast (once I verified my address.) I calculate I'll make roughly $8,000 in rakeback alone. After which I'll be more than rolled to play more $400 and $1000nl. Which will be an easy $12-15k a month +/- how well I do at the tables. I honestly can't believe more people don't play there.

So anyways, that's the 2 month plan. Go me.

Sailor Flop

Well I got killed last night at the tables. In fact, killed may be an understatement. I nearly lost my entire roll on AP (about 10k.) I saw a few fish up at the 5/10nl tables and sat down. I bought in for $1000 on 2 tables, nothing big.

Things started off pretty well. I doubled through one donk, or close to it, getting up to $1800 on one table, and slowly grinding the other stack up to $1500.

Then come the beats.

AA v KK all in preflop for about $1000. QJTx9 hits (and I knew that fucking river was gonna be a 9.) Then I find myself on the short end of that very same stick, K's v A's. Only I'm not lucky enough to outdraw the aces. I didn't get stacked though...only lost about $600.

Now I must note, I was a bit drunk at this point. And I felt like I was playing well. So it didn't seem like a bad idea at the time. But I rebought in full on both tables for $2000. I was just gonna play very tight and try and get my money back. I ended up making a few bad decisions and lost those 2 buyins as well. I was tilting hard by now.

The problem is that when I play higher stakes I often feel like people are trying to push me around. So I sometimes start calling down a lot more. Anyways, I was pretty pissed off and I wasn't willing to take that big of a loss. I closed one of the tables and just rebought for $2000 more on one table, and concentrate all my focus there. I just couldn't get anything going. It was uberfrustrating. I couldn't get back any of my losses, and I dropped another $1000 or so chasing rags.

I ended up about $8900 in the hole. Which isn't a lot at those stakes really. That's only 4+ buyins. But it sure feels like a lot. I barely have enough left to play 1/2 now though.

Anyone wanna stake me?
